The Dodgers can counter Lodolo’s angle with Betts, Smith and Teoscar Hernández, while Kiké Hernández and Alex Call offer further right-handed options. Lodolo must keep his fastball away from the middle of the plate; otherwise, those bats can force deep counts and expose the bullpen early.

Skubal’s recent dip in velocity and elevated changeup are the main threat to early control. Ohtani’s physical condition also reduces the margin for error if Betts and Smith do not return as expected.
